  I really like to support local businesses. The fact we have Allen's TV right here in Oxnard close to home and the fact they've been around for a very long time must seem they're doing something right... Right? Not in my case. Over $600.00 later they can't fix my 2008 Samsung rear projection HDTV right. DMD chip went out last April and they replaced it. That was a $300 repair that lasted only 9 months. December 2014 the chip went bad and dead pixels returned. I call asking if this was normal and the owner informed me he had never heard of that happening before and let me know he would contact Samsung about warranty on the DMD chip and that if it was still covered, I'd only pay labor to replace it. They said they'd call me back. Waited a few weeks and no call. I called a few days ago and was informed it as no longer covered as it was a 90 day warranty on the chip. Fair enough I guess. Still very odd a replacement chip would only last 9 months when the original lasted 7-8 years. I opt to repair it through Allen's TV a 2nd time to replace the DMD chip once again. They come and pick it up from my house, which you have to pay for - and I had to help carry the TV out I don't even know how many times now (Lost count, 6?) because it's only a 1 person pick up/delivery service that doesn't have a dolly or push cart. I get the call 2 days later saying my Samsung is all good to go and it's coming home. This repair in January 2015 was $345.00. TV comes back and I help carry it from their van in again to my TV stand and we plug it in. No more dead pixels. Great I think. As soon as the delivery man leaves I notice a white cloudy haziness or orbs ALL OVER the screen. I don't know what it is. Dust on the projector lens is my best guess. Definitely not there before. I call them back right away, within 30 minutes and the delivery guy is back and takes a look. He could not see the haziness for a few moments. Finally he sees it and agrees. Takes it back again to the shop. I get the call today from the owner saying they both cannot see a thing in the shop and that my TV is coming back. Basically said "I don't really know what to tell you". They claimed to have cleaned all the optics in the TV and gave it a look over again and found nothing wrong. TV comes back today January 9th 2015 and lo and behold the white cloudy orbs are still there. My family noticed it immediately. The delivery man again agreed he could still see it faintly, but that they did the best they could. I'm done with this place. Heed my warning and tread carefully if you take your set there. My mom has gotten her TV done there. A great job too. Mine has been a nightmare. One that has cost me over $600 with nothing to show for it. So disappointed.
